Wanna Grow Old in Paris: A Love Story Between A Woman, A Man, And A City

The only thing that has made me, a true Olympics junkie, feel okay about Paris Olympics coming to a close, has been waking up to this very post! I’m thrilled that Damian is dropping a Live EP of his Mission Creep Tour later this month and I find it utterly smart to drop the first single “Wanna Grow Old in Paris” on the closing day of the Olympics in Paris.

Now, we all know the narrator in the song, the woman who wanted to grow old in Paris. We also know Helen was all of the things Damian talks about in his Instagram post and more. And while she did not have the chance to grow old in Paris, Damian told the audience at his gig at The Tabernacle in London in November 2022 that she managed to do some of the things he sings about in the song. Can’t Believe It’s Been Two Years: Damian Lewis’ First Ever Gig at Omeara London

I feel extremely privileged to have been a part of Damian’s fantastic first ever gig in London exactly two years ago. Then I was very lucky to attend  many other magical music gigs with Damian and his brilliant band but it is very special to know that I was there at the very beginning of this thrilling musical adventure. TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2023: A Magical Evening at Hoxton Hall

I had a 48-hour lightning trip to London for fun with fan friends and a fantastic evening of music at Hoxton Hall in East End with the one and only Damian Lewis and his fabulous band. And when I asked my blog mate Gingersnap before my trip that whether she thought I was crazy because I am flying to London for 48 hours, I got this response.

“You’re not crazy. But you have a new name. Groupie!”

Seriously, how many times do you need to travel to see a musician in action to qualify as a groupie? 🙂

It was such a magical night and I am ready to tell you all about how our Ginger Elvis has ruled on stage and off – he has made time for everyone, his guests and his fans, after the gig. He had pictures taken, gave autographs as well as bear hugs.

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis’ First Ever Gig at Omeara London

Although we already knew that Damian was making music with the wonderful jazz band Kansas Smitty’s and that there was talk about making an album, Damian’s return to stage with a guitar in his hands has been the most exciting and happy surprise of the year! I was extremely lucky to be at Damian’s first ever gig at Omeara London where our ‘Ginger Elvis’ ruled the stage with his originals as well as some great covers. A Magical Evening with Damian Lewis and His Band at Hoxton Hall

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I had a 48-hour lightning trip to London for fun with fan friends and a fantastic evening of music at Hoxton Hall in East End with the one and only Damian Lewis and his fabulous band. And when I asked my blog mate Gingersnap before my trip that whether she thought I was crazy, I got this response.

It was such a magical night that, ten days later,  this groupie still the under the spell of Damian’s spectacular performance and ready to tell you all about how our Ginger Elvis has ruled on stage and off – he has made time for everyone, his guests and his fans, after the gig. He had pictures taken, gave autographs as well as bear hugs.
