Smithsonian Channel may be part of your cable subscription, and if it is not, you can watch it as part of your Hulu Live, You Tube TV subscription. You can see different ways of how to watch Smithsonian Channel programming here. Oh, and, you can watch the first episode here now –  courtesy of Smithsonian Channel!
