Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Makin’ Plans

“Makin’ Plans is a song the Stones themselves might be proud to have under their belt.” – David Nobakht, Buzz Magazine

Welcome back, everyone, to another Damian Lewis’ “Song of the Week” feature! I’m excited to share my thoughts on yet another track from Damian’s debut album Mission Creep. And this time, it’s one where Damian plugs in the electric guitar.

Let’s talk about Makin’ Plans.

But before we dive deep into it, if you missed earlier posts in our Song of the Week series, you can catch up here. Continue reading “Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Makin’ Plans”

Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Suck My Blood

It’s Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week time again — and this one feels particularly special. Because we now know,  thanks to a recent interview Damian gave to 9Honey, that his new singles will begin dropping in March, with the full album set for release in June. And this track, Suck My Blood, is one of the new originals we are really hoping makes the album cut. It has already been released on The Radleys soundtrack — but it absolutely deserves a second life on album two.

So today, we’re diving into it.

Here is how Damian introduced his new song “Suck My Blood” to us on Instagram just in time for Halloween in 2023. And then, during the second leg of his Mission Creep UK tour in spring 2024, he brought it to the stage for the first time.

Before performing it, he told us about The Radleys, the vampire film he had recently completed, in which he plays a small-town doctor. He explained how the song was inspired by the film and his role in it. And in Stroud, he absolutely brought the house down when he spotted a man in the front row getting up — presumably for the bar or the loo — and deadpanned:

“Sir, I’m not a real vampire.”

Classic Damian. Perfect timing. People couldn’t stop laughing. Continue reading “Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Suck My Blood”

Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Pentonville Prison

“I was riding home one night on my motorbike. I was in North London. I was on Caledonian Road. I was outside Pentonville Prison. Next thing I knew was I was flying through the air and going straight to the windscreen of a car. This is called Pentonville Prison.” – Damian Lewis

We can’t wait for Damian Lewis’ second album sometime this spring, and one of the songs we’re really rooting to see on the album is Pentonville Prison. We’ll be diving into that track this week in Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week series.

And before we get into it, if you missed any of the previous Song of the Week posts, you can find them all here.

Now, Pentonville is an actual prison on Caledonian Road in Barnsbury, North London. But don’t worry—the track isn’t about Damian doing time. Instead, it’s inspired by a motorbike accident he had right outside the prison many years ago. Continue reading “Damian Lewis’ Song of the Week: Pentonville Prison”

Mission Creeeep: Why Damian Lewis’ Second Album Is Worth the Wait

Holy Damian 🙂 or Damian performing at Cyprus Avenue, Cork, Ireland, October 2025

The title of this post comes directly from Damian himself.

He gave it to me during the Q&A he did with his producer, Giacomo Smith, only a few days after releasing his debut album Mission Creep.

When Damian Lewis released Mission Creep in June 2023, many people saw it as a debut album — something new, unexpected, and exciting. But for fans like us, who followed the live shows very closely, listened carefully to what Damian said, and watched how the music evolved over time, it quickly became clear that Mission Creep was not the end of the story. It was the beginning. Continue reading “Mission Creeeep: Why Damian Lewis’ Second Album Is Worth the Wait”
