TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2022: Commander of the Order of the British Empire

Well, it is THAT time of the year again! We have “Best of 2022” lists wherever we look: Best Books of 2022, Best Movies of 2022, Best Music of 2022 and so on… And, it is our utmost pleasure to jump on the “Best of” wagon with our TOP Damian Lewis Moments of 2022! As we take the last days of the year to revisit the year Damian has had personally and professionally, we very much hope to put a smile on your face.

We don’t intend to rank the top moments as many “Best of” lists do. We pick the moments in which, we believe, Damian shines as a brilliant actor, a wonderful storyteller, a true gentleman, a serious athlete or just a guy who knows to have a good time and bring them to you.

The moment with which we kick off this year’s top moments series is one that we are very proud of. Damian Lewis was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the late Queen Elizabeth’s annual birthday honours. This very well-deserved honor comes for Damian’s services to drama and to charity especially for initiating Feed NHS, the campaign Damian ran with Helen and raised more than 1 million pounds to provide food for NHS workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Such a Night: Damian Lewis at the EFG London Jazz Festival 2022

“Jazz is a broad church. That’s why we chose a Tabernacle. Place of residence. Place of meeting. Tent of congregation. Tent of meeting.”

-Damian Lewis

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I had a 72-hour lightning trip to London last week for a special weekend with fan friends and a fantastic evening of music at The Tabernacle London in Notting Hill with the one and only Damian Lewis. It was such a night that, one week later,  I am still the under the spell of Damian’s spectacular performance and ready to tell you all about how our Ginger Elvis has ruled on the stage and off – he has made time for everyone, VIPs and fans alike, after the gig. So please come join me in the beautiful and inspiring  music hall that is The Tabernacle London, and live or re-live ( if you were lucky  enough to be there) every single detail from that glorious evening.

Shall we?

A Small Community Theatre Duo: Paige’s Dream Role for Damian Lewis

source: Times Talks

One of the most rewarding things about doing this fan blog is meeting fellow fans with whom you hit it off immediately. And Paige is certainly one of them. We first met online but then in person at Damian’s Times Talks in New York back in summer 2016 and have been in regular touch since then. Damian made Times Talks a special treat for the audience with his delightful stories and brilliant sense of humor. There was a lot of laughter in the room and I believe Paige and I provide concrete evidence in the picture below 🙂

Helen McCrory: Celebrating A Phenomenal Woman and Her Life

Helen McCrory would have been 54 today. While I am old enough to know that life is unfair, I still cannot wrap my head around her passing and the sadness Damian, their kids and Helen’s parents and siblings had to go through during her illness and her untimely death.

I have always known that Helen was a brilliant actress but now I also know she was such a class act in life and death. The way she chose to live, bravely, focusing on her family, work and charity rather than on her illness and death, is a lesson for us all about how to live and die with dignity. She was such a bright star that I know she will keep on living through her brilliant work and the two wonderful children she raised with her beloved husband. And we want to celebrate this phenomenal woman and her life today.
