Following Footsteps of Damian in London

Taking inspiration from Vicky’s fun retelling of walking in the footsteps of Milo Shakespeare, here’s me walking in some of the footsteps taken by Damian in his home town. Enjoy!

Gotta love it when a passing thought from one post leads to an entire new fully-fleshed-out post. I had remarked, during my two-week tour in London, I was reminded often of places I’d seen Damian in images and film. In particular, when I was walking from Shakespeare’s Globe west towards Blackfriars Bridge along the Thames Path I looked down to the river and saw the moss covered walls where Damian and Helen leaned and loafed for a photoshoot, as well as the pier under which Hector made a phone call in Our Kind of Traitor.

That bit of Proustian mind-wandering lead Damianista to the thought, “Hey, why not do a post where we follow along in Damian’s footsteps throughout London?” “Isn’t that a bit stalkery?” I worried. “Nah,” we both concluded. Happily, Damian knows we are the most harmless variety of stalkers he could ever have. So, here it is, a catalog of all the places and sites where we “saw” Damian, characters he’s played, and stories he’s been a part of in his beloved home town.

49 Fun Facts about Damian Lewis

Damian Lewis is 49 years old today! Happy Birthday!

Damian is my fellow Aquarian. And if you believe in horoscopes β€” I cannot say I do but I enjoy reading them β€” then 2020 will be a GOOD year for us 😀But, honestly, whenΒ it comes to Damian’s year, we don’t really need to read the horoscope, the tea leaves, or having grown up in Turkey, the coffee cup for himΒ 🙂

Firstly, we are looking forward to the premiere ofΒ Billions Season 5 on Showtime! The series has already become the premium network’s second biggest show ever after HomelandΒ and guess what β€” there is only one lead actor that has played in Showtime’s two biggest shows! 😀 Damian Lewis:Spy Wars, Damian’s first experience in factual TV, is coming to the Smithsonian Channel, a joint venture between Showtime and the Smithsonian Institute, sometime this year. And the two films Damian completed in 2018 and 2019, namely Run This TownΒ andΒ Dream Horse, are coming to a theater near us in March and in May, respectively. So we can only imagine the possibilities 2020 may bring…

Happy Birthday, Damian! You make 49 look so damn good and we have decided to celebrate your day with 49 Fun Facts about you!
