And in celebration of England becoming a finalist in a major football tournament for the first time in 55 years, our Throwback Thursday today takes us to Will, a football movie Damian made in 2011, that is about Liverpool playing in the 2005 Champions League Final Match in Istanbul, Turkey, yes, my native country! As the great Charlie Crews would say “everything is connected” 😀
Damian Lewis is a fantastic actor. A generous philanthropist. He is a skilled player on the football field. And we have seen again in the recent “Such a Night” video that he can definitely sing. But, among all different hats he wears, that of fatherhood stands out as the most precious one. And how beautiful the stories we hear and the images we get of Damian as a father. So we’d love to share some of our recollections of him being a dad on this Father’s Day.
While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances! So it is my pleasure today to revisit the year Damian spent home.Continue reading “Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I”
Our favorite guy said in a recent interview with The Telegraph that he is quite relaxed about turning 50. While we applaud him for being calm about his 50th, we can’t keep calm about such a milestone birthday!
So… Welcome to Damian’s week-long BIG 5-0 birthday party on Fan Fun. We kick off the festivities today with 50 Fun Facts about our favorite guy. Did you know about Damian’s first ever stage role? Or about his childhood nickname? How about his first screen crush or what he would have done if he had not been an actor? You can find the answers to all those and many more questions you may have about Damian below.
Hope everyone is doing well in these surreal times we are living in. As I am longing for the good old days that I walked the streets of New York freely (which I hope to do again sooner than later now that we have a light at the end of the tunnel), I would love to take you back to exactly two years ago, a cold evening in December 2018, when I caught up with Damian Lewis at Bobby Axelrod’s Favorite Pizzeria. ENJOY!
When I saw this tweet, I wanted to scream on top of my lungs “it is going to happen!” but of course I restrained myself 🙂 Now that everyone has seen Season 4 Episode 7, I can spill the beans! Join me!
This blog has had an interesting relationship with Billions. I launched the blog only two weeks before they started shooting the pilot in New York and I have been very lucky to catch up with Damian on the set once every season since. I do not know how many times you need to do a thing for it to become a tradition, but catching up with Damian on Billions set once a year certainly feels like a tradition now.
