Catching Up With Bobby Axelrod at His Favorite Pizzeria

Happy National Pizza Day!

In celebration of the day, I would love to take you back to more than four years ago, a very cold evening in December 2018, when I caught up with Damian Lewis at Bobby Axelrod’s Favorite Pizzeria. ENJOY!

When I saw Brian Koppelman telling “Keep Watching” to the above tweet, I wanted to scream on top of my lungs “it is going to happen!” but of course I restrained myself 🙂 Now that everyone has seen Season 4 Episode 7, I can spill the beans! Join me!

Our Top 3 Billions Characters We’d Love to See Return

Over the coarse of 7 seasons, Billions has had many memorable characters that have made a distinct impression on the show, and the viewers.

With Billions coming to its end and Axe making a comeback, we thought we would list the Top Three characters we would also like to see return in Season 7.

Take the M Train to Billions: A Visit to Bobby Axelrod’s Favorite Pizzeria *UPDATED*

bobbypizza7

We already published Billions Season 1 Dining Guide,  Season 2 Dining Guide, Season 3 Dining Guide, Season 4 Dining Guide, and Season 5 Dining Guide but Bruno and his Capparello’s Pizzeria or real life Rosa’s Pizza have become such a staple in the show that the pizzeria absolutely deserves its special tribute!

Bobby Axelrod, as much as he is a man of confidence, seems to feel most comfortable in his skin at Capparello’s echoing that Yonkers boy who wants to “get rich and get even” when he grows up. Every scene at this corner pizza joint reveals a thing or two about Bobby and THIS alone makes a trip to Rosa’s a MUST for me and my partner-in-crime Lewisto. And a comment on the blog from a reader, Alaston, saying “If you DO go to Rosa’s, get the Grandma slice” triggers it that we find ourselves on the M train heading to Rosa’s in August 2016.

So who folds it better? Bobby or Me?

We start with a virtual trip, revisiting the four scenes we saw at Capparello’s in Season 1 before our real trip, and highlight what we learn about Bobby in each one. Then we follow up with our real trip to Rosa’s Pizza and discuss the use of the pizzeria in the following seasons of the show.

Bon Appetite! Continue reading “Take the M Train to Billions: A Visit to Bobby Axelrod’s Favorite Pizzeria *UPDATED*”

When I saw this tweet, I wanted to scream on top of my lungs “it is going to happen!” but of course I restrained myself 🙂 Now that everyone has seen the fantastic Episode 7, I can spill the beans! Join me!

This blog has had an interesting relationship with Billions. I launched the blog only two weeks before they started shooting the pilot in New York and I have been very lucky to catch up with Damian on the set once every season since. I do not know how many times you need to do a thing for it to become a tradition, but catching up with Damian on Billions set once a year certainly feels like a tradition now.

The day I “met” Bobby Axelrod on Billions pilot set, February 3, 2015, source: Damianista

And when I saw Billions signs on Park Avenue on a Saturday evening in December, I thought I could continue the tradition. The signs hint that they might shoot at Eleven Madison Park where I could easily imagine Axe eat with other billionaires, and was happy that I could continue the tradition. I propose we start with a virtual trip revisiting the four scenes at Capparello’s highlighting what we learn about Bobby in each one followed by our real trip to Rosa’s Pizza? Continue reading “Take the M Train to Billions: A Visit to Capparello’s Pizzeria”
