In the five years that Fan Fun with Damian Lewis has been live, we have found out so much about Damian himself: His family background, his personal life, his interests, his vacations and what have you. And it is inevitable to think about yourself when you learn something new about your favorite star. “Oh, Damian is my twin!” or “Oh, Damian should be my soulmate” or “OMG! How come he likes this?!?!” or “I cannot believe how different Damian and I are.” And Gingersnap and I thought it would be neat to turn those moments into a fun post. So we sat down and wrote about things each of us has in common with Damian and a couple of other things that each of us is polar opposites of him. Hope you enjoy our stories and add your own similarities to and differences from Damian in our comments section.
Having been born not just in the same decade, 1970s, but also within a year of each other, Damian and I have similarities that are not particularly surprising: We both grew up riding our bikes up and down the street, playing similar detective games, listening to the 80’s music on our Sony Walkmans and watching the same American TV shows. It is no secret we adore these love birds and we are extremely pleased to end the year, exactly like we did in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 with our favorite Damian & Helen moments of 2019!
Well, it is obviously not easy to be two ridiculously talented and busy actors living together and raising a family. I remember Damian telling us at Cheltenham Literature Festival that the problem never goes away:
“When you’re two actors living together, you’re always asked to do work away from your home, so you just have to decide which ones are important enough to go and do away from home and try to spend the rest of the time together.”
Happy Labor Day! I am hoping most of you have had the chance to make that last beach trip before the summer ends while I have been sitting at my desk writing about Damian’s summer, the third in a row he has enjoyed fully!
Damian constantly worked all summers between 2011 while he was shooting Homeland to 2016 when they were starting the Billions shoot in summer. So, when asked by a fan at The Goat stage door back in May 2017 about what he would be doing between The Goat and Billions, whose shoot would not start until September, he responded promptly:
Desert Island Discs (DID) is a BBC Radio 4 Programme where invited guests share the soundtrack of their lives. Specifically, eight music tracks, one book and a luxury item. What would you take with you to a deserted island Better yet, what did Damian choose? To review his and my blog mates:
