“I don’t really believe in judging art. But I thought I’d show up just in case. Turned out alright.” – Damian Lewis
We have Prime Time Emmy Awards coming up this Sunday. As much as I believe it is a crime that we do not have stakes in this year’s Emmys, I will just keep calm and carry on taking us all back to 2012 Emmy Awards and re-live Damian’s BIG MOMENT!
Well, it all starts with the nomination. Homeland scores BIG in Prime Time Emmy nominations – it is not just a record number of nominations for Showtime and but also the highest for any freshman series that year!
Entertainment Weeklyasks Damian how he feels about his nomination just after the Emmy nominations are announced.
“I’m really thrilled. Over the moon. I was asleep. So I was just getting some extra zzzzs and I woke up with my phone buzzing next to my head.”
If you feel the need you can debate who is making who look better, but I’m going to be diplomatic and say that Helen and Damian are just gorgeous together.
Quite honestly I have no idea how they manage to fit in everything that they do, but it is certainly true that life is not fun if you have no one to share it with. I’m sure Charlie Crews would in all likelihood give us a sad smile in agreement.
Chloe Fox of vogue described Helen and Damian in an interview from 2013 like this
So, with that wonderful quote in mind, the last blog of 2015 is looking back at our favourite couple hand in hand at various points throughout the year.
65th Berlinale International Film Festival
The couple attend the Berlinale for the premiere of Queen of the Desert in which Damian plays Charles Doughty-Wylie. Damianista actually posted about the Berlinale as an individual top moment for Damian as well.
We’re almost there, ladies and gentlemen! Prime Time Emmy Awards Ceremony is coming up on September 20, 2015, 5:00pm PST, at Microsoft Theater L.A. and will be aired LIVE coast-to-coast on Fox!
Oh, yes, we have some high stakes this year — I imagine we will have some adrenaline rush as we root for our favorite actor to take home the Emmy! And, of course, before the awards ceremony, we will enjoy the glamorous red carpet! What will our glorious couple be wearing this year? 🙂
Anyhow… What do you think will happen at the Emmys? Here’s, for what it’s worth, the LATEST predictions as well as my two cents about the Emmys along with my three wishes that I just hope will come true at the ceremony 🙂
“Henry VIII is a monster, but he’s our monster. No other nation has a king who had six wives and cut the heads off two. We’re perversely proud of Henry.” – Hilary Mantel
Well, I wrote this blog post for Henry VIII’s birthday on June 28 as a personal tribute to my Henry — Damian Lewis — for storming Wolf Hall but also to make a case about why he deserves an Emmy nomination!
We’re now celebrating Wolf Hall scoring 8 nominations in the Limited Series/TV Movie category. Here’s the full list of Emmy Nominations for Wolf Hall from Masterpiece PBS website!
