Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory’s Feed NHS

It was exactly five years ago that the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak to be a pandemic, leading to stay-at-home orders and a months-long lockdown across the world. And as most of us stayed home doing not much, two people (and we now know that one of them was quite sick) led an extraordinary fundraising effort for the NHS personnel. Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory, along with their partners, raised more than £1.5 million pounds to provide hot and healthy meals for the NHS staff during the Covid-19 crisis. So why don’t we go back to March 2020 today and re-visit Damian and Helen launching and managing Feed NHS?

TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2022: Commander of the Order of the British Empire

Well, it is THAT time of the year again! We have “Best of 2022” lists wherever we look: Best Books of 2022, Best Movies of 2022, Best Music of 2022 and so on… And, it is our utmost pleasure to jump on the “Best of” wagon with our TOP Damian Lewis Moments of 2022! As we take the last days of the year to revisit the year Damian has had personally and professionally, we very much hope to put a smile on your face.

We don’t intend to rank the top moments as many “Best of” lists do. We pick the moments in which, we believe, Damian shines as a brilliant actor, a wonderful storyteller, a true gentleman, a serious athlete or just a guy who knows to have a good time and bring them to you.

The moment with which we kick off this year’s top moments series is one that we are very proud of. Damian Lewis was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the late Queen Elizabeth’s annual birthday honours. This very well-deserved honor comes for Damian’s services to drama and to charity especially for initiating Feed NHS, the campaign Damian ran with Helen and raised more than 1 million pounds to provide food for NHS workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have just learnt that our favorite guy was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in Queen Elizabeth’s annual birthday honours. This very well-deserved honor comes for Damian’s services to drama and to charity especially for initiating Feed NHS, a campaign Damian ran with Helen that raised more than 1 million pounds to provide food for NHS workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We send our heartfelt congratulations to Damian! What he and Helen did for Feed NHS is exemplary citizenship. Helen would surely be made a CBE herself if she were with us today. And we know she’ll smile from above as Damian accepts his. We love them and we are so proud of them. So why don’t we go back to March 2020 today and visit Damian and Helen launching and managing  Feed NHS along with their partners?

Billions Season 5 – Part II Official Trailer: Expect the Unexpected

First things first: I hope everyone has been vaccinated and doing well!

Our earlier “On the Horizon in 2021: Billions Season 5 Episodes 8 – 12” post came out of our own thoughts based on what we have seen in Billions Season 5 – Part I. Now that we have had “I Believe in Myself” and “Trust Me” teasers as well as the official trailer for Billions Season 5 – Part II, I have revised my expectations, wishes and fantasies and am ready to talk about what may come our favorite characters’ way in the rest of the season.

Well, we know that they edit trailers in a way so they do not give away much but a taste of what is coming. Still, I cannot help dive deep into the trailer, dissect it, try to put the pieces together and ultimately have fun! Speculation rocks until we have our favorite characters wheeling and dealing on our screens on September 5 at 9:00PM ET/PT.

Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I

While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances!
