Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory
Lighting the Christmas Tree

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Now that we have the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lit up, winter holidays are officially here… And the beauty is in the fact that everyone is celebrating something. It is Christmas, or it is Hannukah, or it is Kwanzaa, or it is Winter Solstice, or it is New Year’s or it is Festivus for the rest of us (Seinfeld, anyone?)… 😀

And, whatever you hold holy, Happy Holidays! Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory Lighting the Christmas Tree”

A Misunderstood Genius: Gingersnap’s Dream Role for Damian Lewis

About this project: I started thinking what meaty role I’d like to see Damian play when I shared my idea with Damianista. She said go for it. I wrote my piece and it sat collecting dust waiting for others to think of their dream role. I had all but given up when Damianista wrote her dream role, and it snowballed from there. Now we have over 20 dream role contributions thanks to the fans! We started publishing the dream roles and then the unthinkable happened. Damian lost Helen. We lost Helen. The world lost Helen. Such a deep, deep wound. We needed to push the pause button for obvious reasons and we are now resuming the series, starting with mine. We will publish everyone’s dream role thereafter. Here we go (again)!

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at the Royal Shakespeare Company

Spot a certain ginger among a bunch of young actors playing in a celebrity football tournament around 1995/96!

It was Damian’s pal Jonsel Gourkan  who tweeted the picture. Both he and Damian were playing football for Royal Shakespeare Company and it is clear from the tweet that the competition on the football field was real! Well, we all know Damian knows his footie, don’t we?

So how about traveling back to mid 1990s today and talk about young Damian being as serious about theatre as he was about football? Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at the Royal Shakespeare Company”

Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I

While Damian is currently in NYC filming the rest of Billions Season 5, this past year has been different than any other for him (and for us all)! There was no filming, no theatre, no cheering for his beloved Liverpool at Anfield, no live concert or summer festival. But the good news is that the pandemic let Damian spend more time than ever with his family, let him make a lot of time for charity and let those of us on the other side of the pond catch our favorite actor in a few fabulous virtual performances! So it is my pleasure today to revisit the year Damian spent home. Continue reading “Damian Lewis: A Year at Home – Part I”
