Damian will make his 4th appearance in Soccer Aid for UNICEF match between England and The Rest of the World this weekend. The match will kick off at 8pm on June 10 Sunday (UK time) at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium. The luckiest ones among us can buy tickets here to see the game at the stadium, and fans in the UK can catch the pre-match festivities as well as the full match LIVE from 6:30 pm on ITV and STV. And we, the mortals, do not seem to have any other option but following the game on social media!

Come meet the teams here and scroll down to select your star player!

Which Moment Made Damian Lewis Prouder? Receiving an OBE or Scoring in the Soccer Aid Penalty Shoot?

Here is a question from a fan for Damian Lewis in American Buffalo programme booklet. Jon Holdsworth asks:

“Which moment made you prouder – receiving an OBE from the Queen or scoring in the Soccer Aid penalty shoot-out in 2010?”

Ha! That’s a tough one!

Let’s first remember these two TOP moments in Damian Lewis’ life!

Damian was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) as part of the Queen’s birthday celebrations in June 2014. OBE is part of the UK honor system and it is “awarded for having a major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.” Accordingly, Damian Lewis has been commended for “his services to drama.” Continue reading “Which Moment Made Damian Lewis Prouder? Throwback Thursday: Damian Lewis owns Midfield, England Wins 3 – 2: Soccer Aid 2016

Our sporty bloke may have been spotted perpetrating some immaculate swings on the golf course a few days ago, but around this time last year, we were privy to seeing Damian knock around a ball for a bit and show the rest of the world his prowess in the game of footie at Soccer Aid 2016. Here’s a look back at that match and the three of us meeting up virtually to watch the game.

My personal favorite of all the pictures of this event, and, perhaps, my favorite picture of him from all of 2016…how he’s so far above the ground, so focused on the task at hand. A visual metaphor, really, for an entire career.

Damian Lewis – Designing His Own
Philanthropy, Part II

We are thrilled to have Lynda with us again today with Part II of her detailed survey into Damian’s generous heart! In case you missed Part I, it is here.

Programs benefiting children are near and dear to Damian’s heart. Since 2000, he has donated his valuable time serving as an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. In 2008, in a brief street interview on London news, Damian spoke about the importance of The Prince’s Trust providing opportunities for at-risk young people who might not otherwise follow positive paths in life. Raising a Toast for Fan Fun with Damian Lewis

Hello All, Damianista here!

I told you in our anniversary post that one person that has been here since the inception of the blog is Lewisto. He is the one that named this blog (Oh, yes! He said: “You are a big fan and you will be doing this for fun so why not call it Fan Fun with Damian Lewis?”) as well as the one who brushed away my worries about fan blog possibly being a crazy idea (Oh, yes! He said:“Some people love golf. You love Damian Lewis. What’s the difference?”). Just being the rational guy that he is, he suggested I run with this only if I thought I could commit for at least two years so it would be worth the effort. I said I could do that and so this anniversary feels extra special.

In case you missed it, Lewisto guest-blogged earlier here about why he is a Damian Lewis fan! And, weeks before our anniversary, he told me he now wanted to guest-blog about why he is a Fan Fun with Damian Lewis fan 😀 Well, what would you do if your partner asked to write a love letter to your blog? Yes, exactly! Go ahead, hun!  Continue reading “Raising a Toast for Fan Fun with Damian Lewis”
