An Antiques Restorer: NotLinda’s Dream Role for Damian Lewis

“I Add My Own Love To The History Of People Who Have Loved”

So Donna Tartt sums up her beloved and layered novel “The Goldfinch”. The actor to whom this website is devoted could be described by these very words. Beloved and layered. I’m well aware that an effort was made to transfer the novel to the big screen. The result was beautiful but shallow. When in the future it is made into a limited run series Damian must be cast as Hobie, James Hobart, the restorer of antique furniture and of broken children. Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis in Into The Woods

This lovely picture tweeted by Michelle Blair a few years ago shows a group of young actors that were together in the 1998 London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods at Donmar Warehouse.

Starring as Himself: Christine’s Dream Role for Damian Lewis

It’s Dream Role Day!

Today’s dream role story comes from a very special fan, Christine Wilson. You know we always talk about the inspiration Damian constantly provides for us to write about him and his brilliant work. And, in Christine’s case, this inspiration turned into a book that you may have heard earlier: Meeting Damian Lewis. JaniaJania wrote a wonderful review of the book here and we highly recommend you to read it — it is brilliant! It was our true pleasure to have Christine share with us how she became a Damian Lewis fan and how the book idea came about, well, over a bottle of wine, maybe two, with a friend a few years ago! And today she is here to cast Damian in the film version of, well, her book, of course! ENJOY!

Bobby Axelrod: The Boy Whose Dad Never Came Back – Season 5

Or should I say “Bobby Axelrod: The Boy Whose Dad Finally Came Back”?

The Opportunity Zone project in Yonkers brings Axe a golden opportunity not only for receiving tax breaks but also for facing his past. Big time. I obviously knew Bobby’s dad was not a good husband or a good father, I mean the guy walked out on his wife and his 12 year old son, but still I never knew that Bobby has such a heartbreaking story where the wounds are still open and excruciatingly painful.

As he sits on the floor of his childhood room, a place where he thought he would never set foot again, Bobby shares with Wendy a story – this is not the entire story but only a glimpse into a very painful childhood –  about how it was back then. Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory
Lighting the Christmas Tree

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Now that we have the Rockefeller Christmas Tree lit up, winter holidays are officially here… And the beauty is in the fact that everyone is celebrating something. It is Christmas, or it is Hannukah, or it is Kwanzaa, or it is Winter Solstice, or it is New Year’s or it is Festivus for the rest of us (Seinfeld, anyone?)… 😀

And, whatever you hold holy, Happy Holidays! Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory Lighting the Christmas Tree”
