From Charity to Sports to Theatre: We Know What Damian Lewis Did During The Covid-19 Lockdown! *UPDATED*

“I am going to have a summer.“

This is how Damian promptly responded to a lady who asked him at The Goat stage door back in May 2017 about what he would be doing between The Goat and Billions, whose shoot would not start until September. And that was his first full summer with family since Damian constantly worked summers between 2011 while he was shooting Homeland to 2016 when they started shooting Billions shoot in July.

And he was probably pleased with the results that this is the fourth summer in a row Damian has spent with family but also the first he spent mostly at home, like the rest of us, due to Covid-19 pandemic. Damian was filming Billions in New York when the pandemic arrived in the US. As they took a break from filming mid-March, he came back home, and has had a spring and summer bookended by two important Covid-19 activities. Happy Birthday, Helen McCrory! TOP DOZEN Reasons to Love Her

Thanks to interviews with Helen in The Telegraph and The Times, we found out about her 50th birthday celebrations!

“He (Damian) took me to the Wallace Collection. He got the gentleman in charge to give us a tour, which was my idea of heaven. Then we went to a hotel that will remain nameless, then home.

When I came down to dinner, my whole family were there and a load of friends. Damian is very good at throwing surprise parties. And because I always dress up, I just happened to have on a 1920s backless blue velvet evening gown with a pair of old Fila trainers.”

Hello, everyone! This is a post I wrote in 2015 when I said farewell to Mad Men, my all-time favorite TV show. This week marks the 13th anniversary of the show premiering on AMC. Happy 13th Anniversary, Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory!

I have been married for quite some time (24 years in two days!) but my husband and I don’t care much about our marriage anniversary. We somehow feel it is just the day we “legally” became a couple and what we do instead is to celebrate the day we started dating 😀 And I obviously do not know if Damian and Helen are having a big celebration for their anniversary, but one thing I know is that even if they are not, an entire nation is celebrating with fireworks today on their behalf 😀

Happy Birthday to SONY Walkman: I had one and Damian had one, too!

Happy 41st to Birthday SONY Walkman!

One of the great things about writing on Damian Lewis is that he’s from my generation. This essentially means I very easily relate to a lot of things about him, from the football team he supports, the pop culture references he makes, his sense of humor or the music he likes — I know some people have found his music taste “unsophisticated” on Desert Island Discs, but hey, we both grew up in the 80s, cut us some slack please ☺ And so some of the stories I write are mine as much as his… like… this one!

Today we go back to 1980s, to a big cultural icon and a real coolness symbol of the times: SONY Walkman… and Damian Lewis, too! Well, as the Great Charlie Crews says “everything is connected.” And everything, in our universe, finds his way, ultimately, to Damian.
