A Ginger Obsession Called Damian Lewis: Sonia’s Story

Hello everyone! Damianista welcomes you to a NEW Fan Story Tuesday!

This week’s story comes from Sonia, a lovely fan from the UK who is as much a “dark horse” as me. Now, in case you don’t know what this means… Here is Damian providing an explanation at Times Talks London back in 2014 😀

Well, my dear Sonia, Damian may not go out with us after all but even THAT cannot stop us from loving the unlovable Soames Forsyte! So, without further ado, here is Sonia telling her fan story with a great sense of humor! Big thanks go to her for sharing her story with us. ENJOY! The Money Run with Gareth and Damian Lewis: Let’s HELP Make It Happen

Hello everyone! We shared about the crowdfunding campaign Damian’s younger brother Gareth has had on Indiegogo a month ago. The campaign will go on for another month so it is a good time to share it one more time now.

You will find a lot of information about The Money Run below. If this project comes to life, Gareth Lewis will direct it and Damian Lewis will star in it! So… do we need another reason to back this project? 😀 I know our community is capable of doing wonders so please read on to find out how we all can give a hand to help make it happen!

What is The Money Run?

In Gareth Lewis’ words:

“A $20 million helicopter heist in the middle of the Vietnam War. What could possibly go wrong?”

The Money Run is a book Gareth Lewis is working to turn into a movie. If it happens, Gareth will be directing it and Damian will star in it. The good news is we have a chance to make it possible! Continue reading “The Money Run with Gareth and Damian Lewis: Let’s HELP Make It Happen”

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at Berlinale 2015

I am happy to say “Ich bin ein Berliner” for the last couple of days. And exactly like JaniaJania and I did in London, I cannot help follow Damian’s footsteps in Berlin… Honestly, it is not that I follow him, but he comes and finds me everywhere 😀 Look at that!

Then I stand in front of the glorious Brandenburg Gate that has become the symbol of unified Germany since 1989, and I do not just think of history, but also of Damian saying his hotel room had “a pretty amazing view of Brandenburg Gate” when he was in Berlin for the World Premiere of Queen of the Desert at Berlinale 2015 😀

So I look around and find out there is only one hotel looking over Brandenburg Gate: Damian should have stayed at Hotel Adlon during his visit to Berlin, the MOST famous and probably the most expensive hotel in the city with some interesting history. “Is she the tutor?” or How I became a Fan of Damian Lewis, The Man: Lewisto’s Story

Hi everyone! Damianista welcomes you to a NEW Fan Story Tuesday!

Most of you know Lewisto, my husband and partner-in-crime, who occasionally writes for Fan Fun. Today is Lewisto’s birthday and I thought it would be fun to share his fan story on this special day. Some of you may have read this story because we originally published it two years ago. However, since it is the story of how Lewisto became a Damian Lewis fan it truly belongs in this Fan Story Series.

You will notice that while it is an extremely funny story centered around Damian, Lewisto’s story is quite personal and it says as much about the two of us as about Damian. I do not intend to give any spoilers but if you think of Carrie and Brody as the best cat and mouse you have ever seen… well, you ain’t seen nothing yet 😀

ENJOY!

Damian Lewis in The Silent Storm

I wrote about Norman Harris, probably the most romantic Damian Lewis character, two weeks ago here. And as I was thinking about kind and caring Norman, I was also thinking about Damian’s versatility that he does not have a “screen persona” and he can play any character that comes his way. And I asked myself a question: What Damian Lewis character is the anti-thesis of Norman Harris? Well, the answer came to me in the form of the stern Presbyterian minister Balor McNeil.

Have you seen The Silent Storm yet?

The Silent Storm is slow. It is heavy. It is intense. And, lucky me, that is exactly how I like my movies. So the movie, with powerful performances by two seasoned actors (Damian Lewis and Andrea Riseborough) and a brilliant new comer (Ross Anderson) coupled with the stunning island scenery and psalms sung a capella speaks to me just right. And here is my take on the movie, without any major spoilers, studying Damian’s character more than anything else. Continue reading “Damian Lewis in The Silent Storm”
