Billions on Showtime, Season 7 Episode 4: Hurricane Rosie

Hurricane Rosie is a great episode demonstrating all kinds of hurricanes, literal and figurative, a billionaire businessman can face when he decides to run a presidential campaign! And the experiences he goes through in the episode makes Mike Prince realize that he cannot make casual decisions as he pleases anymore. Every single thing he does, in fact every single thing any of his employees does on behalf of the company, now matters in a way that it did not before. Prince comes out of the episode, having averted three major crises, as the apparent winner, yet he is clueless about a Cat 5 hurricane coming his way. Its name is Wendy. Billions on Showtime, Season 7 Episode 3: Winston Dick Energy

The first Axe-less episode in the final season has three storylines that are light-hearted compared to those in the first two. We meet two new characters and welcome back two familiar faces. And a few lead characters doing soul-searching brings complexity that leave the viewers asking for more!

I do not know if Chuck’s first order of business as the U.S. Attorney of the SDNY has been to release Jock Jeffcoat from prison, but one of the first  is to offer a job to Ira as the two are eating a lavish breakfast from Russ & Daughters in some office at the SDNY. When Ira asks if they are having their breakfast in a random office so Chuck would not have any food smell in his office later, Chuck says the office is Ira’s if he wants to. Billions on Showtime, Season 7 Episode 1: Tower of London

Advance Warning: This is a long review. I wanted to touch upon everything that happened in the season premiere because it sets the tone for the season… And I also wanted to re-visit a thing  or two from Season 6 as a reefresher. I just missed writing about this show so much ! So please bear with me – ENJOY!

One episode in and my mind is spinning. Season 7 may turn out to be the most Billions-y Billions we have ever seen!

My one word review for the season premiere: WHOA.

Longer version follows. ENJOY! Continue reading “Billions on Showtime, Season 7 Episode 1: Tower of London”

Bobby Axelrod in Billions Season 6 *UPDATED*

If you are not living under a rock, you know that Damian Lewis announced on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he was returning to Billions! While we followed the clues and called it before everyone else that Damian would return to Billions, I believe the biggest clue we have had is Billions Season 6 itself. Here is what I wrote in my post back in April 2022.

“Now, the writers’ room not shying away from having characters mention Axe regularly makes me feel they do not intend for us to forget the character and they may even want us to compare and contrast him with Prince. And Bobby Axelrod still having a presence, if in spirit, in the show, gives me hope that he may show up again at some point in the next season – maybe not as a regular character but at least as a recurring one.”

BINGO! Variety has announced that Damian will be back for half of the new season – certainly a recurring role!

Billions Season 7: Expectations, Things We’d Like To See (or not!) and a Fantasy or Two!!

We hope you all are having a fabulous summer and are ready to get fall  rolling with Chuck, Prince, Wendy, Taylor, Wags and, yes, AXE!

We did not write any episode recaps for Season 6 since this blog is not about Billions but about Damian Lewis’ work. And now that he is back, we are thrilled to resume our weekly Billions recaps and analysis! Some of us are also watching Season 6 one more time (I admit I watched it  closely but not with the obsession I typically did when Damian Lewis was on the show!) to remember where we left our characters. I highly recommend everyone to catch up with Season 6 since, without question, some new characters introduced in Season 6 as well as several storylines will re-appear in the final season. Moreover, while Bobby Axelrod was not physically there in Season 6 he has a constant presence in the season. And now that he is back, WE ARE BACK, TOO!

As we all eagerly anticipate the final season of our favorite show, we here at Fan Fun want to share some of our expectations, wishes and fantasies on the upcoming season with you and get us all in the mood!
