Divergent

Obsession – the state of being obsessed with someone or something; an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person’s mind.

homeland0107-2025 - Version 2

When we watch a TV programme we do so to get away from the reality of our own lives. This could be considered a tad ironic as we then become totally engrossed in and obsessed with the ‘reality’ in whatever programme we are watching. We start to react to what is happening on the show and talk about character’s problems as if they are real. One of the reasons for this is simply that, while this character is fiction, their problems may resonate with us and we start to root for that character as a result. We have the desire to see our favourites come out on top and get their way in a way that maybe we cannot. Continue reading “Divergent”

Fan Fiction: Brody’s Prayer

I know most of you, exactly like me, cried buckets when our beloved Brody died in Homeland. But have you ever imagined what final thoughts did possibly go through his mind during his last moments? As someone who has still not been brave enough to watch that horrific scene, I certainly have not. But NotLinda, a terrific fan, whose fan story and her fan fiction “Dear Dana” we published earlier on the blog, has. Massive thanks go to her for giving us Brody’s final prayer in a new fan fiction. Please keep the Kleenex close by as you read. And if you have written fan fiction for any of Damian’s characters you would like posted on Fan Fun, please email us at allaboutdamian@gmail.com.  Continue reading “Fan Fiction: Brody’s Prayer”

Somebody That I Used to Know –

All Her Big Loves Came as a Shock. So did Damian Lewis: Petra’s Story

Hi everyone! Damianista welcomes you to a NEW Fan Story Tuesday!

Today’s story comes from Petra, aka Lucky Fellow as she likes to call herself, a wonderful fan from Germany, who has been one of our very loyal readers and supporters. Our interaction with Petra is quite special since she always writes in German, and we google-translate her note to English and then respond. And how can you not LOVE this technology letting us overcome any language barrier and share our love and admiration for Damian Lewis regardless of who we are and where we are? And after all, we all speak the same language when it comes to Damian!

Petra sent me her fan story in German. I google-translated the piece and then did my best to polish it. I also sent a couple of sentences that google-translate did not do a good job with (word by word translation does not always work!) to Carolin, another German fan and friend, who very kindly helped me translate them. So please find Petra’s story below both in German and English! Big thanks go to her for this lovely contribution and to Carolin for her help with the translation. Enjoy! Billions Homeland Crossover Fanfic: Somebody That I Used to Know

Summer seems to be the time when showrunners are heads-down working on writing next season’s episodes. Seems it may also be the time when those of us awaiting those stories can make up some of our own. I made up the following story last year when we were waiting for Billions Season 2. Enjoy!

Standard disclaimer: I own nothing, neither of these characters, nor their history, real or imagined, not the coffee they share, nor New York City, their current home.
