In her Desert Island Discs, Bookworm reveals that the Damian Lewis character she would take to her island is… Paul Reynolds! Have you ever met the guy? If not, it’s TIME you meet him!

Bookworm, in fact, identifies Paul Reynolds with the Queen hit: Don’t stop me now! She says: “What to say about Paul from Friends and Crocodiles? Paul has a big personality and the house to match. He has big dreams and plenty of ideas, but lacks the ability to coherently organise his life at all. He is known as a great host of great parties and has many colourful people in his life. Paul likes to enjoy himself and not really think too far ahead. Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis in Friends and Crocodiles”

Bastogne

This week marks the 71st anniversary of the Seige at Bastogne, a pivotal confrontation in Battle of the Bulge, which saw the Allied forces assert their most courageous and bloody defense against the last big push by Nazi forces in WWII.

The Bastogne episode of Band of Brothers was arguably the most emotionally intense and beautifully filmed of the series. Brody grew on me. And, lo and behold, he became my all-time favorite fictional character thanks to Damian Lewis’ fantastic portrayal of this broken man — it is Brody who made me a Damian Lewis fan for life and a blogger, too! Lara Axelrod: Bobby Axelrod’s Better Half in Billions

One of the many reasons why I can’t wait for Billions — the MAJOR one being the prospect of having my weekly Damian Lewis fix on TV — is that the show is giving us not one but two smart and strong female characters in Wendy Rhoades and Lara Axelrod. I just LOVE smart and strong women that give hard time to men — sorry, Bobby!

Well… I have written about Wendy and the uniquely powerful position she may have over Bobby and Chuck here and here. And today I turn my attention to Lara Axelrod and try to figure her out with the information at hand. Continue reading “Lara Axelrod: Bobby Axelrod’s Better Half in Billions”
