Well, he may not be the best on-screen father to Dana and Chris, but we know Damian Lewis is a GREAT real-life dad 🙂

How come we know that? No, our favorite guy does not go around saying how great a dad he is… His wife, Helen McCrory though tells Daily Mail:  “I realise how lucky I am, having talked to other mothers, that Damian gets involved in his children’s day-to-day lives. In two months of filming Homeland, he’s flown back home four times in his few days off. For Father’s Day: Damianista’s Heavy Baggage…

Damianista’s note: This is probably the most personal post that I ever share on this blog. I just have to get this out of my chest. Thank you, Damian Lewis, for the inspiration.

Father’s Day is just two days away. It’s a day that I have not been able to celebrate for a long time… 35 years to be precise.

Damian Lewis once said: “My mother’s death is the single most important thing that’s happened to me in my life.”

Throwback Thursday: Desert Island Discs with Damian Lewis

Damian Lewis was Kirsty Young’s Castaway on BBC Radio 4 Desert Island Discs (DID) back in November.

Here’s the drill if you are not familiar with the program: The castaway comes having done his homework; with eight pieces of music — one of which he will choose as his favorite — plus a book and a luxury item that he will take to his island with him. You hear the music during the program accompanied with a story from the castaway about why he has chosen this particular piece.
