From Homeland to Shakespeare: Damian Lewis Narrates Audiobooks

This post is long overdue. We always hear fans say, and cannot agree with them more, that Damian Lewis can read the phone book and they can listen to him all day. Having said that, why would we have to hear Damian read the phonebook to us as we have much better books out there he could read for us?

YES! Damian narrates Audiobooks! If you have not tried it before, it is a total pleasure to have him read you a story. It feels like the equivalent of CBeebies for adults, highly recommended for bed time but also for anytime, doctor’s orders! And Damian has narrated a good variety of books that it is really easy to pick a favorite.

I would love to take us all today to a special Harvest service,Ā organized by British Food Fortnight to rekindle the tradition of Harvest Festival, at the Westminster Abbey in 2013, an event that Damian Lewis does not only attend with family — as a foodie, I cannot think of anything better thanĀ celebrating food with family, no wonder Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! —Ā  Ā but also actively participates in the celebrations as well as has a conversation with theĀ Duchess of Cornwall, who is also in attendance, about the whereabouts of one certain Nicholas Brody! šŸ˜€ Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at Harvest Festival 2013”

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis & Helen McCrory at Cheltenham Literature Festival

Damian loves and supports poetry and so do we! One poetry project he has actively supportedĀ is TheĀ Love Book,Ā a brilliant collection of classic and contemporary love poems that vary from Shakespeare to E.E. Cummings to Maya Angelou comingĀ together in a bookĀ as well as in an app. And it is my utmost pleasure to take us all back to The Love Book event I was extremely lucky to attendĀ at Cheltenham Literature FestivalĀ exactly two years ago:Ā Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory read Great Love Poems.

Happy Anniversary to Damian Lewis & Helen McCrory!

I have been married for quite some time (20 years in two days!) and my husband and I don’t care much about wedding anniversaries… WeĀ somehow feel our wedding day is just the day we “legally” became a couple and what we do is take the day we started dating as THE DAY to celebrate šŸ™‚

So… I am clueless about whether Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory are big on celebrating their wedding anniversary but one thing I know is that even if they are not celebrating, an entire nation is celebrating on behalf of themĀ šŸ™‚

Better yet, get the app and party with us, tooĀ šŸ˜€

April 23, 2014 Wednesday. I have Ā to sit in front of my computer all day at work so I just let myself indulged in everything Shakespeare for occasional procrastination, from finding out aboutĀ words that we owe to him, e.g.Ā bedazzled, fashionable, pageantryĀ toĀ New York Public Theaterā€™s celebration tweets withĀ favorite Shakespeare quotes and verses, and to a extremely special birthday party at Guildhall Library — Complete Reading of Shakespeare’s SonnetsĀ —Ā kicked off by a certain someone šŸ™‚ Continue reading “Happy Shakespeare Day with Damian Lewis!”
