Why Damian Lewis? JaniaJania’s Fan Story

It all started with a tweet. One that got a fair share of RTs and Favs and one I sweated delivering a pithy response to. But my response couldn’t possibly fit in 140 characters:

We can’t be more thrilled about having kicked off our Fan Stories Series last week with Lady Trader’s lovely story. The response to our call has been amazing and all stories we have received are personal, special and extremely heartfelt. So please stay with us and enjoy  a long-running fan stories party on the blog and in case you are still interested in sending us your story but have not done so yet, please do, we would love to have you on board!

Today it’s my fan story bits and pieces of which you may have already read earlier but it has been fun to bring it all together in a single post. Besides, the timing is perfect because this week marks the fourth anniversary of me getting out of the closet about my new screen crush with the following Facebook post just a day after my birthday! 😀 Continue reading “It’s all about Brody: Damianista’s Fan Story”

Well, How Did I Get Here? Lady Trader’s Fan Story

And you may ask yourself, well
How did I get here? – Talking Heads

Damianista often visits New York, and when she does, we try and get together to chat and catch up. On one of her Spring visits, on a subway ride home, she asked me how I became a fan of Damian Lewis. I told her the story and her reaction was: “You should post that on the blog!” When I finally wrote up my story, Damianista came up with the brilliant idea of getting stories of how others became fans of Damian Lewis and posting them on the blog. How interesting it would be to read everyone’s stories and to see just how we all became a happy, FUN community! Damianista sent the word out, and the response was amazing!

We will be publishing fan stories right here every Tuesday. Damianista was gracious enough to let my story be the first one to get us rolling, so here it is! Continue reading “Well, How Did I Get Here? Lady Trader’s Fan Story”

Damian Lewis on Stage: Guildhall School of Music and Drama

Damian Lewis is making a wonderful comeback to West End stage in Edward Albee’s late masterpiece The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? at Theatre Royal Haymarket in March 2017! And this gives us a unique opportunity to walk through the memory lane and visit Damian’s stage work in its entirety. It is our pleasure to kick off the festivities today with Damian’s theater education at Guildhall School of Music and Drama! We hope you share and enjoy this journey with us!

Damian discovers theater in his early school days at Ashdown House: His first ever role is a policeman in The Pirates of Penzance, a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. And by age 12, he has good stage experience under his belt with a few low and high moments 😀 Continue reading “Damian Lewis on Stage: Guildhall School of Music and Drama”

Raising a Toast for Fan Fun with Damian Lewis

Hello All, Damianista here!

I told you in our anniversary post that one person that has been here since the inception of the blog is Lewisto. He is the one that named this blog (Oh, yes! He said: “You are a big fan and you will be doing this for fun so why not call it Fan Fun with Damian Lewis?”) as well as the one who brushed away my worries about fan blog possibly being a crazy idea (Oh, yes! He said:“Some people love golf. You love Damian Lewis. What’s the difference?”). Just being the rational guy that he is, he suggested I run with this only if I thought I could commit for at least two years so it would be worth the effort. I said I could do that and so this anniversary feels extra special.

In case you missed it, Lewisto guest-blogged earlier here about why he is a Damian Lewis fan! And, weeks before our anniversary, he told me he now wanted to guest-blog about why he is a Fan Fun with Damian Lewis fan 😀 Well, what would you do if your partner asked to write a love letter to your blog? Yes, exactly! Go ahead, hun!  Continue reading “Raising a Toast for Fan Fun with Damian Lewis”
