Choose what to believe and believe in your choice!

Welcome to the last FanFiction blog of 2015!

This month we bring you some festive snapshots of some of the characters played by Damian.

Brody household, December 2002

“You lied!”  Brody hears the angry accusation mixed with childish indignation and distress in his seven year old’s voice. His two year old son is startled from his conversation with various cuddly toys in his play pen. He looks to his father, wide-eyed.

Leaning over Brody smiles, ruffles Chris’ hair. “It’s ok, buddy. Just some school run drama.” Chris smiles, showing off a toothless grin that always makes Brody’s heart swell, and goes back to playing. Continue reading “Choose what to believe and believe in your choice!”

Second Anniversary of Darkest TV Hour Ever: The Day Brody Died :(

Today marks the second anniversary of the darkest TV hour ever for me.

Nicholas Brody died on December 15, 2013 on our screens.

This blog owes a million thanks to this flawed hero. Well… I was this “normal” woman attending to my own thing… until Nicholas Brody came along unexpectedly and turned everything upside down… No, it was not love at first sight with him. Brody grew on me. And, lo and behold, he became my all-time favorite fictional character thanks to Damian Lewis’ fantastic portrayal of this broken man — it is Brody who made me a Damian Lewis fan for life and a blogger, too! Homeland Post Brody

What, it’s been two years already since Nicholas Brody was hung from a crane in Tehran, right? Yet, he has never fully left the world of Homeland; he’s a ghost lingering just behind Carrie’s eyes as she makes the motions to have a normal life with someone new, and he’s ever present in the face and twirly red locks of his child Frannie. The infinitesimal hint Carrie had of happiness with a man she loved so completely has informed her every movement since then. She wants to have it again, to feel it again, and, this time, for someone who is not a terrorist bent on self-destruction. Hey, a girl can dream. And that’s all just Brody appearing in spirit. Even in body, he makes a posthumous appearance as Carrie’s hallucination in Season 4 Redux, a gratuitously excruciating and painful scene to watch. (You think I exaggerate, but, truth be told, like Carrie, I was pretty much a fetal ball crying on the floor too after that scene: “I want to believe…” gah!)

Now in Season 5, Brody makes an appearance yet again as the picture on the wall within Carrie’s eyesight all five years she was stationed in Baghdad. Let’s go back…and then forward…shall we? Forward and onward in this world created by a show that mirrors so much of the real world it’s downright eerie.

Thanks Given

We have a slightly different blog for you this #FictionFriday as we are given thanks to Damian Lewis for the characters he brings to life and the resulting potential in the world of #Fanfiction.

Mark Rose (Hearts and Bones)

Mark is a husband, father and school teacher. He is happily married…but his wife isn’t. Season one focuses on their relationship with their group of friends and each other. Increasingly Mark’s wife becomes interested in his brother who is far more exciting to her than Mark is now. There is a false dawn of Mark and his wife renewing nuptials before it falls apart completely and Mark leaves at the end of season one. Broken hearted Mark does not return for season two because Damian got the part of one Major Dick Winters. Continue reading “Thanks Given”

Trivia Tuesday with Carrie & Brody Love Story

source: showtime
source: showtime

I don’t know what it was that had you hooked on Homeland, but I know that, for me, it was not the CIA story… Not at all… It was Carrie & Brody love story that made me a die-hard Homeland fan and kept me at the edge of my seat for three seasons. Carrie and Brody made me, and a lot of other fans, believe in their impossible love with the incredibly natural chemistry that Claire Danes and Damian Lewis had on screen! And, I just turned a deaf ear even when they gave us hints this may not end up well — think about Carrie’s “Imagine that!” to Brody’s “But we could be happy, couldn’t we?” or Brody’s “Maybe this will all end in tears….” and rooted for my favorite star-crossed lovers to live happily ever after against all odds! Yes, yes, I know, I know, as my mom loves to say “it’s not a love story, it’s a CIA show” , but I just couldn’t help it, the love story was just too tempting to fall for that I loved the love story in the CIA show… And that’s probably why, even though I watched Season 4 and thought it was a good storyline, I just felt it was missing something… well, someone… And, the highlight of Season 4 was those five minutes that almost got me that Brody was back — which I blogged about here.
