Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory’s Feed NHS

We have just learnt that our favorite guy was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in Queen Elizabeth’s annual birthday honours. This very well-deserved honor comes for Damian’s services to drama and to charity especially for initiating Feed NHS, a campaign Damian ran with Helen that raised more than 1 million pounds to provide food for NHS workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We send our heartfelt congratulations to Damian! What he and Helen did for Feed NHS is exemplary citizenship. Helen would surely be made a CBE herself if she were with us today. And we know she’ll smile from above as Damian accepts his. We love them and we are so proud of them. So why don’t we go back to March 2020 today and visit Damian and Helen launching and managing  Feed NHS along with their partners?

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis Receiving the Freedom of the City of London Honor

“It’s remarkable, I’m still surprised. I wasn’t quite sure if they’d got the right person so I’m very happy to be here. It’s a rare occasion.” – Damian Lewis

Did you know that Damian Lewis received the Freedom of the City of London honour at London’s Guildhall in recognition of his achievements as an actor in March 2013?

Freedom of the City of London is one of the oldest surviving traditions still in existence today. It is believed that the first Freedom was granted in 1237. According to Wikipedia, being a “free man” in old times came with certain privileges, varying from the right to drive sheep and cattle over London Bridge to carrying a naked sword in public. TOP Damian Lewis Moments 2018: The Britannia Award

Always the Ham

A significant top moment in 2018 for Damian would be receiving an award for his artistry. I do not shy away in saying he is the most talented actor of our generation and it seems BAFTA LA agreed. Damian received the well-deserved and long overdue BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Award for Excellence in Television on October 26, 2018 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

The Britannia Awards are BAFTA Los Angeles’ highest accolades, recognizing both outstanding British talent and exceptional international artistry through an actor’s body of work. It’s no secret around here that Damian is talented and exceptional – for more than a decade and a half he has enticed and intrigued audiences with highly complex, compromised, flawed characters he has brought to life on television, from steadfast Dick Winters, constipated Soames Forsyte, and quirky Charlie Crews to damaged Nicholas Brody, radical Henry VIII and currently, the ruthless Bobby Axelrod.

But where did it all begin?
