Today’s Throwback Thursday is from when the tall one headed to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner.
This black tie shindig, thrown by the Washington Correspondents Association, happens annually at The Washington Hilton. 2016 marked the 102nd anniversary of this dinner! You can read in great detail about the history of this organization, and it’s relationship with the White House and the president, both present and past. The stated goal of the gathering is stated as such on their website:
“Proceeds from the White House Correspondents’ Association annual dinner go toward scholarships and awards that recognize aspiring and accomplished journalists.
