Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis Receiving His OBE

Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrate this wonderful holiday with family and friends — we indulge ourselves maybe a little bit too much with turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and give thanks, among other great things in our lives, for the one and only Damian Lewis and the characters he brings to life and into our lives šŸ™‚ And then we travel back to eight years ago, November 26, 2014 to be precise, to the day Damian Lewis received his OBE from Duke of Cambridge and made us all proud!

Guitar Man: Here is All We Know About Damian Lewis’ Music Journey

ā€œIā€™m looking forward to getting out there and playing the songs Iā€™ve written and been recording for my debut album. Be good to be back on stage, this time with a guitar in my hand.ā€

ā€”Damian Lewis

You know what I did in the title, don’t you? If you know a certain ginger man who thinks he is the “second coming of Elvis” that is returning to stage with a guitar in hand, you go and title your related post after a lesser known Elvis gem šŸ™‚

So… if you are not living under a rock, you know that Damian returned to stage, this time, with a guitar in hand turning his fantasies into reality. Damian and his band had a fantastic first live gig at Omeara London on August 4, which I reviewed in detail here, followed by a second live gig at Wilderness Fest on August 7. I would love to take us all today to a special Harvest service,Ā organized by British Food Fortnight to rekindle the tradition of Harvest Festival, at the Westminster Abbey in 2013, an event that Damian Lewis does not only attend with family — as a foodie, I cannot think of anything better thanĀ celebrating food with family, no wonder Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! —Ā  Ā but also actively participates in the celebrations and has a conversation with theĀ Duchess of Cornwall, who is also in attendance, about the whereabouts of one certain Nicholas Brody! šŸ˜€ Continue reading “Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at Harvest Festival 2013”

A Small Community Theatre Duo: Paige’s Dream Role for Damian Lewis

source: Times Talks

One of the most rewarding things about doing this fan blog is meeting fellow fans with whom you hit it off immediately. And Paige is certainly one of them. We first met online but then in person at Damianā€™s Times Talks in New York back in summer 2016 and have been in regular touch since then. Damian made Times TalksĀ a special treat for the audience with his delightfulĀ stories and brilliant sense of humor. There was a lot of laughter in the room and I believe Paige and I provideĀ concrete evidence in the picture belowĀ 🙂

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory at Cheltenham Literature Festival

I was there in the room when Damian and Helen read love poems to each other from The Love Book, a brilliant collection of classic and contemporary love poems that vary from Shakespeare to E.E. Cummings to Maya Angelou coming together in a bookĀ as well as in an app. It was a moving and intimate hour with a powerhouse husband and wife team reading poems, teasing each other, and sharing their dynamic chemistry with the audience. And could there be anything better to share with the fandom on World Poetry Day?

It turns out that when the festival inquired about a possible video recording of the reading in 2014, Helen and Damian said no. Damian tells The Sunday Times:
