Damian Lewis and The Queen: A Tribute

When he was asked about how his favorite member of the Royal Family was a few years ago, Damian did not even hesitate for a moment:

Queen Elizabeth II, the second longest reigning monarch in history, passed away last week. Even if you are not a student of history, just knowing that her first Prime Minister was born in 1874 (Winston Churcill) and her last was born in 1975 (Liz Truss) is quite enough to recognize what a remarkable life and reign she had. I understand that emotions are still high about her passing, but the Queen’s life is certainly one to celebrate. And Damian has paid a tribute to the late Monarch on Twitter sharing a sweet moment he had with her once.

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis at Game for Grenfell

We are traveling back to the last days of summer 2017 today with Damian playing in Game for Grenfell, a football match organized to raise funds for all families affected by the horrible Grenfell Tower fire in June 2017 that caused at least 80 deaths and more than 70 injuries. This special charity football game attests to our favorite guy’s talent in sports, his generous heart as well as his fun personality. Hope you enjoy it.

Throwback Thursday to Damian Lewis and Helen McCrory’s Feed NHS

We have just learnt that our favorite guy was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in Queen Elizabeth’s annual birthday honours. This very well-deserved honor comes for Damian’s services to drama and to charity especially for initiating Feed NHS, a campaign Damian ran with Helen that raised more than 1 million pounds to provide food for NHS workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We send our heartfelt congratulations to Damian! What he and Helen did for Feed NHS is exemplary citizenship. Helen would surely be made a CBE herself if she were with us today. And we know she’ll smile from above as Damian accepts his. We love them and we are so proud of them. So why don’t we go back to March 2020 today and visit Damian and Helen launching and managing  Feed NHS along with their partners?

Seven Years with Damian Lewis

DRUMROLL!

Fan Fun with Damian Lewis is seven years old today!

Here we are, a bunch of inspired fans, 2557 days,  1226 blog posts and over  3.15 million views from 229 countries later… absolutely thrilled and totally beaming about how far we have come!

I had a conversation with Lewisto as I was pondering, in the last weeks of 2014, whether it would be worth keeping an online fan diary about Damian Lewis. Being the rational guy that he is, Lewisto suggested I run with this only if I was confident I could commit for at least two years so it would be worth the effort. Damian Lewis Becomes The Patron of Sir HvH Arts

Helen McCrory hosting a Master Class Chocolate Course for the Sir Hubert Von Herkomer Arts Foundation in 2017

Helen McCrory was the patron of Sir Hubert Von Herkomer Arts Foundation  (HvH Arts in short) a charity that is dedicated to ensuring every child is given a chance to connect with art when funding for the arts is squeezed out of the mainstream curriculum at schools.

A huge believer in that every child should have access to arts, Helen championed the charity starting on day one when it was founded in 2013. We saw her and Damian attending HvH Arts Student Exhibitions and chat with students about their art as well as working the phones on the trading floor to raise funds for the foundation over the years.
